Poosey Gun Range is a great place to shoot guns and get everything sighted in before entering the woods for your hunt. Breanna… my oldest granddaughter (11) done such a great job of shooting for her first time, and done a very good job handling the gun and herself while hunting. The last time that Breanna went hunting with me she was 4 years old. It was cold and I had her so bundled up that she couldn’t even hardly walk…lol. I wanted to share this video for all those parents and grandparents who need to get their kids out in the woods to learn about the wildlife, hunting, gun safety, and see what the outdoors really offers. In my opinion everyone needs to know about guns and gun safety. There are so many gun related accidents simply because of the lack of knowledge about guns and how to safely use them. Get the kids out of the house, off of the computers, video games, and TV, and spend time with them in the great outdoors that God created for us to use and enjoy.
There are numerous gun ranges around to use, so just do a search in your area to find one close to you. When we are up north we use the Poosey Gun Range, or also known as the Poosey Conservation Area, but when we are near our home we use the Pigeon Hill Gun Range located on the South edge Of St Joseph MO. My favorite is the Pigeon Hill Conservation Area because it is so much better set up and safer for all shooters. The big difference is the huge dirt mounds that run the length of the range in between each shooting station. There is a 25yd station, a 50yd station, and a 100yd station, so by there being a huge tall dirt divider between each station, it allows you to not have to worry about the people on the other shooting stations. So in other words, you can go down and check your target whenever you wish instead of having to wait for the other shooters to get done and clear their guns, etc, like at Poosey Gun Range. This is why the Pigeon Hill Gun Range is our favorite.
Learn how to use guns safely and give them the respect they need and deserve, or leave them alone!
