We’ve all heard that you should log at least 10,000 steps per day to stay really healthy. And we’ve all heard that it takes these many steps to get fit, lose weight and to live longer, but is this accurate information, or BS?
I think that common sense should tell us that walking will indeed help get fit, stay fit and even lose weight.
Will Walking Make You Live Longer?
Study’s have shown that it doesn’t take 10,000 steps per day to get fit, stay fit, or even lose weight. However, Walking does indeed help us to live longer. Being active is one of the key ingredients to a healthy life.
How Much Walking Do We Need? Test have shown that moving from 10 minutes of walking per day to 20 minutes of walking per day would have a greater impact than going from 50 minutes per day to 60 minutes per day. Many people have found that if they just commit to 30 minutes per day of walking that they feel much better, lose body fat, get tightened up all over and they actually have much more air and breath better.
Will Tracking Your Walking or Steps Help?
Many of the so called professionals out there will say no you don’t have to track your walking, or steps, but study’s have shown that those that tracked their steps, and other workouts they performed, and food they ate, had much better results than those that didn’t track everything. In fact, those that didn’t track their steps and or Foods didn’t stick with their walking schedules.
Study’s Don’t Lie
When study’s are done on numerous people, often times the results are absolutely shocking. In the study’s of; “Will Walking Make You Live Longer”, it has been proven that walking, or any kind of daily exercise will make you live longer.Using some kind of tracking devise will help you stay on track, or at least it should. There is something about seeing that tracking devise to help keep you motivated. Maybe it’s the steps you have for the day, or the ones you don’t have? Either way, you either feel great, or not so great.Not seeing the steps on your tracker should be all the motivation you need to get up and get going before your day is finished.Get up, get to walking and live longer.
