Today was another day of Pavilion Progress – Digging holes and setting poles. I’m digging these holes 4’ deep, using my Kubota track machine and large bore auger.

I’m using large diameter telephone poles that are heavily creosoted on the bottoms, which will allow for a long time of protection in the ground. I’ve been able to get 2 post out of each telephone pole. I’m cutting these at 18’ and putting 4’ in the ground, leaving me with 14’ above ground.

Using my TimberKing 2220 sawmill, I already have milled several large oak logs into 2×6 lumber for this pavilion. I have it all stickered and stacked, and weighted to keep it flat and straight, for use in this pavilion, once all then post are set.

Having a hard working wife that isn’t afraid to get dirty, and is always eager to help with all of these projects, is such a blessing. As we keep moving forward with this pavilion, we will definitely keep you posted, on our progress.
Always do your best,
-Mike and Rhonda Pilcher
