Today was another day of cutting logs into firewood for our central boiler. Next step is hooking up to wood splitter on my Kubota track loader and splitting this cut pile into good quality firewood.

Back in the spring of 2024 I was clearing off more thorny locust trees, and other trees that were either dead or needed removed.

Some of these trees were huge and in the way of where our wedding venue pavilion was going to be built. With thorny locust trees, if you don’t remove them, they tend to spread like wild fire.

Digging out the large stumps and root balls was a big job, but it’s an absolute must, especially if you plan to build over them.

Using these trees to make firewood for our central boiler is ensuring we aren’t wasting anything that we take down, or that is dead and falls down. Our entire heat source is radiant heat in the floors, using the outdoor wood boiler by central boiler, saves money and is incredible heat.

Some of these large trees that the winds and storms take down, or in this case, the ones we have to remove, are ones we can run through our sawmill to make lumber for our building projects.
Firewood For Our Central Boiler
Why buy expensive propane, or firewood when you can simply use what you already have available, in your backyard. Maybe you don’t have acreage or wooded areas, but if you do burn wood, then just get creative and find people who need some cleanup done from trees down, or brush piles that have trees you can work up into firewood.
Always do your best!
