What Makes This TimberKing 2220 Custom?
This custom made TimberKing portable sawmill is the 2220, fully hydraulic, with the Kubota 49hp turbo diesel engine. Dependable, tough and efficient! This mill has all of the bells and whistles that comes from TimberKing, and so many custom bells and whistles that TimberKing does not offer. With the custom built, automated blade lube system, when the blade is on, so is the blade lube, and when the blade is off, so is the blade lube. And with the blade wiper, this combo package makes the blades last about 50% longer than normal.
The TimberKing 2220 comes as a basic package, and I’ve added everything this mill needed to be a very high performance and high production sawmill. The best thing, it’s simple and easy for anyone to operate. Once you set the advanced Setworks computer, it’s basically push the auto buttons and it will mill whatever you set it at.
Is Everything On This TK2220 Hydraulic?
Hydraulic log loader, with shaved off/removal of unnecessary upper restriction ledges (which restrict sliding slabs and cants over on loader arms), 5 vertical log stops (standard is just 4), log dog, bidirectional log turner, lumber drag back, and all of it is fully hydraulic and just push the buttons and pull the lever. The massive 1-1/2” x .055 blades and guide rollers are also upgraded over the basic model, and it gives more stable and more accurate cuts that the stock 1-1/4 x .042 blades. These blades and larger guide rollers, over doubles the life of the blades, not to mention the much flatter cuts. With all of the additional custom features I’ve added to this TK2220, it is seriously the fastest and most efficient sawmill I’ve ran. I purchased this mill new in 2023 and it’s currently sitting at 180ish hours. The hours will go up, because I’m still using it filling orders.
What About Towing?
This is a portable mill that can be towed to other places to mill, which makes it an even more profitable sawmill. With 6000# tandem axles and 10ply tires, this mill pulls nice and easy. It has brakes on both axles and stops on a dime, which makes it easy to tow behind a half ton pickup, if needed.
