Quite some time ago I was turned onto the best sawmill blade lube and it’s (not diesel fuel)…
I’m sure right now you are wondering what could possibly be better than diesel fuel. I do admit, diesel fuel is an incredibly good sawmill blade lube, but what I’m about to share with you is better, and it will blow your mind.
Best Sawmill Blade Lube and it’s (not diesel fuel)…
So, what is this secret blade lube? It’s only used down south where they grow cotton, which makes it a little more challenging to get here in North Kansas City MO area. But, I’ve found a great place to get it and I’m about to share that with you right now.
This Cotton Picker Spindle Cleaner is an incredible sawmill blade lube, and it’s way cheaper than diesel fuel. This cleaner/detergent is water soluble and oil based, which makes it easier to use. This cleaner is very concentrated, which means it last a long time. I’ve been using 1 cup or so to each tank full of water, and because of the drip system I’ve built and using, each tank last 3-4 weeks.

As good as diesel fuel is for a blade lube, now that I have a better alternative, I don’t have to worry about the problems that diesel fuel will have on my wheel belts and drive belts. And not to mention that most of my walnut customers (DO NOT) want the chances of diesel smell or stains in their walnut lumber that is going into high end homes.
How Do You Get Cotton Picker Spindle Cleaner?
This cleaner, as mentioned above is only used down south where they pick cotton. However, I’ve found several places to get this, and the one I’m sharing below is the cheapest and quickest for delivery. Because this is a liquid, it does make shipping a bit higher than normal, but everything is more expensive right now, isn’t it?

Above here is the best sawmill blade lube and it’s (not diesel fuel)…and the contact information for Lindstrom Equipment. You can also visit Google and search “cotton picker spindle cleaner” and it will be the first one to pop up. If you down south, then most John Deere dealerships have this, or can get it. Most have it in the 5 gallon buckets. My John Deere dealership cannot get it, so I get mine by the case of 4 one gallon jugs and it’s usually $40 bucks in shipping, but as mentioned above, this is very concentrated and will last a long time. I’ve only used about have a 1 gallon jug in the last many months. Lindstroms also has this cleaned/lubricant in 5 gallon buckets.
Ask me about my totally automated “LubeKing” blade lubrication system and how it can cut down your lube usage by at least 75%, if not more. So STOP wasting your blade lube and seeing your profits run all over the ground. Stop the unnecessary steps back and forth turning the lube valve on and off and never being able to get the cheap plastic drip flow valve set right. If you’re a TimberKing sawmill owner, you know exactly what I’m talking about! Why they put plastic lube tank valves on a $30,000 up to $90,000 sawmill gets me?
Always do your best,
-Mike Pilcher
