How to get Kubota 75-2 oil pan drain plug and oil filter access…the easy way. Both of these are hidden and impossible to get to unless you follow this video and these simple steps.
The oil pan is protected by this steel belly plate, as it should be, and the oil filter is also protected inside the engine bay and behind the radiator. These are both easy to get to once you watch this video and follow these same simple and easy steps.
The first step I recommend is lay some cardboard down and have your oil drain pan ready. Lay underneath the machine and remove the belly pan by loosening the front 2 bolts, and removing the rear 2. Then slide the steel protector plate towards the rear of the machine and pull out. Now, get your drain pan positioned under the oil pan and remove the oil pan drain plug using a 13/16” socket and 1/2” drive ratchet, and drain oil into the drain pan.
While the oil is draining, get back to the top side and remove the 3 bolts using a 3/4” socket with 1/2” drive ratchet from the side radiator brackets, like shown in the video above. Now pull on the bottom sides of radiator sliding it towards the rear of the machine and tilts the top back…and don’t forget to pull upwards on the radiator hose removing it from the slotted bracket. This will allow the radiator to tilts backwards and make for easy engine bay access so that you can see and get to the engine oil filter.
Now, remove the oil filter with a small catch pan under it, let it drip drain for a little bit and install the new oil filter after putting clean oil on the oil filter rubber gasket. I prefer hand tight and the give the oil filter another 1/4 to 1/2 turn past hand tight. While the oil pan is still draining, go ahead and remove the air filters and blow them out using an air hose and blower nozzle. If these filters are real dirty, then replace them with new ones.
Go ahead and reinstall the oil pan drain plug and tighten good and tight. Do not put the belly protector plate back on until you’ve put new engine oil in and allowed to run for several minutes and checked for leaks. Once you are sure everything is good and there aren’t any leaks, then clean and reinstall the belly plate. Don’t forget to use a permanent marker and write the engine hours and date on the oil filter for future reference to know when to change oil the next time.
