One of the best things I’ve done, is adding auxiliary fuel tank to my Ram 3500. Having this additional 70 gallon tank allows me to go over 2000 miles when empty and over 1000 miles loaded.

Another huge advantage is adding the GPI pump and pump handle to this tank. This allows me to pump diesel fuel right from my truck tank, right into my diesel equipment.

By pumping treated fuel right from my truck into my equipment is not just handy, but it’s also nice knowing that I have good treated fuel in my equipment, especially in the cold weather months.

When I added this auxiliary fuel tank to my Ram 3500, I also added a shut off valve to the tank, just encase I want to shut it off from gravity feed to my main tank. Having this gravity feed valve allows the fuel from auxiliary fuel tank flow right into your main tank and use your main tank (factory gauge) to know when your auxiliary tank is empty. So in other words, keep driving until your main tank fuel gauge starts to come off of full. This tells you that your auxiliary tank is empty, and all you have left is what’s in your main tank.
Adding this RDS 70 gallon fuel tank allows me to go so much further than what I could before. There are so many advantages to adding an auxiliary fuel tank, and I’ve just mentioned some of them. Another one I love is; not being forced to stop every time my main tank is low, and having to pay the price the pump shows. I prefer to play the low price game and get fuel where I want, instead of where I have to.
With my truck tuned the way it is, I can almost always go 2300 up to 2500 miles when I’m not loaded. If loaded, it’s usually 1150 to 1450 miles I can go before needing fuel. This allows me to find the best fuel prices.
If you have any questions about this set up, then message me for more information. You can also find me on Facebook.
Always do your best,
