Yes it’s true, I will be close to Hobby Hardwoods Alabama with TimberKing 6000 sawmill. This TK6000 is the King of large sawmills, with a massive cut throat of 58”. I have personally had a black walnut 60” log on a TimberKing 6000 during a demo session, and with a little bit of manipulation, we cut that log, rolled it over and kept on milling it into large live edge slabs.
I am actually taking this 6000 (Kubota) diesel powered sawmill to a friend that is literally 45 minutes from Robert Milton , the owner of Hobby Hardwoods Alabama. Hopefully, I can have some extra time to go and visit the Milton’s awesome Hardwood business?
The other TimberKing 6000 pictured on my trailer is going to Armuchee GA, which is close to 3 hours from Harvest AL. Let me just say, putting 2 of these TimberKing 6000’s in one week is a back ache for sure! If I am fortunate enough to have good help, then putting one of these beast together, getting it all dialed in, and loading up a log to saw, is at least a 4-5 hour job…and lots of bending over.
Below are photos of my loaded trailer. Check out how to properly strap down your load, if you are a professional. Most of the people you see running up and down the hiways are using half, or even less of the straps that I’m using. And, they have strap ends flying in the wind. I see people like this along the side of the road’s fastening the flying strap ends and repositioning their loads, because stuff is moving around. I don’t know about you, but I do NOT want to be on the side of these roads doing anything with all these inexperienced idiots with cell phones in their hands flying down the road and NOT getting over for anyone on the shoulders.
It drives me nuts when I see some of the people pulling trailers that struggle just driving the vehicle, let alone towing something. And then, you look over when they literally fly by you and you see one or maybe 2 undersized straps and they are loose, which is suppose to be holding the load. I truly believe that when towing something, the speed limit, or maybe 3-4mph over is plenty fast enough. To many things can happen, and if you driving 15-20+ over the posted speed limits, well you might say, you are riding on double edged sword, and sooner or later it is gonna get you!!
Over achievers strap their loads properly, and not just enough to barely get by. Slow down and get there safely. Just remember, professionals, people of integrity, always do more than is expected, and never settle for minimums!!
