We seldom have ice and snow storm cleanup around our areas anymore, but on a rare occasion, we get some.
This time it wasn’t just some, it was first the freezing rain, then came the snow, and the wind. And with temperatures being below 20*, it was definitely freezing on contact.
Here at Pin Oaks Farm, which is the Trimble/Edgerton area (North Kansas City), and also 25 minutes south of St Joseph MO. This is so rare for our areas, but when we get it, we get it good.
Our average snow depth here was 12” and many places closer to 14”. Now add the wind to it, and our long driveway out to front gate (1/2 mile) was drifted full in many places.
This morning the winds and snow had finally stopped, so I went out and started the big cleanup so we could get out. Once I finally reached our front gate, the county road grader had just came through and cleared out our gravel road.
The pictures shown here don’t do it justice, for how deep and drifted it was, but maybe some of the large snow piles will make it more real.
