Yesterday I had the Kubota M9960 ready to rake and bale straw, and I turned over the large windrows one more time to make sure they would be dry for this afternoons baling with the small square baler, and the storms rolled in out of nowhere. There was no rain or anything in the forecast. So aggravating, because all I needed was 15 minutes to finish up with the straw baling.

So now, after this drys out, I will have to hook the rake back up and turn these windrows over again, let that dry good and then turn it one last time before baling.
This Kubota M9960 is a great tractor for all around uses here on our farm. From brush hogging, to moving logs around with the grapples, or forks, to moving dirt, gravel and hay, the M9960 can do it all. It handles the 9’ disk mower well, as well as the John Deere 535 large round baler.

The Kubota M9960 is a highly popular, versatile 105-horsepower utility tractor produced from 2012 to 2017. Highly regarded for haying, feeding, and loader work, it is favored for its maneuverability, quiet engine, and lack of DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) requirements on many models. This M9960 of ours, is a very rare and hard to find model, featuring the 24 speed with the 2 speed power shift. This was one of highest in demand tractors on the market, and I feel very fortunate to have been lucky enough to come across one so nice, clean and low hours. It was a great trade up, and well worth the long drive and haul to go get it and bring it to our farm.

This Kubota M9960 is a 2013 model and the dealer took our 2014 Kubota M7060 open rops tractor in on trade, and I actually got over 20k more out of it than what I paid for it. The dealer installed all now tires on this M9960 and fluid filled the rear tires. Having a nice cab called the “Ultra Grand Cab” is such a game changer, especially for mowing pastures and haying. Having AC in the summer is awesome, and heat in the winter has made life much more pleasant when working outdoors on the tractor for hours on hours. My little granddaughter, Zoey can tell you how nice this cab is, because when we are baling hay, she will take naps…lol.

Kubota has been my choice of equipment for quite sometime. I have a dealer within 12 miles and a second one about an hour away, the service is great and parts are readily available. The main thing is, these Kubotas are tough as nails! I love the simplicity and reliability. Dependability is very important to me, so Kubota is the perfect fit! As far as attachments, I also like Landpride, which is owned by Kubota. Some of our stuff is John Deere, like planters and balers, which are also very good and reliable.

Once the weather allows me to get back to raking and baling straw, I will get pictures and videos and add them here on this website.
Always do your best,
-Mike Pilcher
