The last several days I’ve been milling walnut logs & edging slabs to get the most usable lumber from these logs, as possible.
As shown in the pictures below, you will see how I stand these slabs up on edge, then secure the stack and cut enough off to get a clean edge. Once I’ve done this, then I turn them all over to other side edge, and cut down to where there is clean lumber on the majority of the slabs.


By doing this, it gets way more lumber from the logs, and not near as much waste. However, it is much easier to do this with help, but one person can still do it, like I usually do.
