Today was pasture mowing and brush cleanup, around ponds and timber edges.
It’s always a good idea to mow your pastures and properties down close in the fall, as well as early spring. This gets rid of all the undergrowth, and allows for new grasses and much healthier pastures. This cutting/mowing close in fall and early spring will make for better grass/feed for your animals, and much better hay crops.

Often times, neglected fields, pastures and properties will start getting overgrown with crap grasses, weeds and thorn bushes, that will eventually turn to a forest of brush. Think about it, this is how timbers and brushy pastures turn into not usable properties, or at least until they are cleared.

Going in and completely clearing land is expensive and turns into nothing but hassles. I’d much rather spend a tank of diesel fuel and a half day of my time once and awhile to keep my property nice and clean, rather than letting it go now and having to spends weeks and months later, not to mention how much I will spend later clearing the brush and overgrowth.
Shown above, is a picture of our TimberKing portable sawmill, which can be brought to your place, set up and milling the trees that you may need thinned out, in order to keep your timber healthy.
