This post is to share the largest TimberKing 6000 Sawmill in Action. This is a sawmill that is all made in the USA 🇺🇸…just like all of the TimberKing Sawmills.
This beast will cut up to 60” diameter logs. Some refer to this beast as the slab mill. This mill shown here has the newest 37hp EFI…V twin gas engine, which packs a ton of torque. This gas engine is not only much cheaper than the diesel, that can be purchased with the 6000, but it also has more low end power than the diesel.

I’ve set up many of these 6000 mills, just like this one I just did for my friends in Maine. The platform you see this mill sitting on was done before my arrival with the mill, and it was done with giant 6×6” beams.
To set this mill up properly, it takes 6-8 hours, some work, and much time with the large levels and string line. Then you must dial it in for the most precision and accurate cuts. Using a torpedo level on the blade to get it level, making sure the guide rollers are properly set, checking drive belt tension and getting setworks set up, if you added it to your order. I will say, this machine without the Setworks computer is a foolish move, unless you are wanting to use a tape measure for every single cut.
In the pictures below, you can see how the TimberKing 6000 mill will be purchased. As you can see, there is much assembly of this beast machine. Bolting the frame sections together, time consuming leveling process (long levels and string line), adding all of the shafts, log stops and log dogs. Then setting the large cutting head, and the most challenging part is running the long chains through the frame tubes, and down the frames, end to end. The last step of the frame and head assembly, is adjusting the chain tension equally on both sides.
