Yesterday I was video footage of quarter sawing cherry log with TimberKing Sawmill. I had my camera set up on tripod and let the video run for half of this larger Cherry log.
The grain inside of this log was beautiful and solid, except for about 1 foot of one end. You just never know until you open the log up. This cherry log was solid on both end and no holes anywhere, but found some rot holes on one end.
In the video below was finishing up the last section of the first half of quarter sawn cherry log. Listen to the blade, and that is the sound of going the right speed. This is the sound you want to hear when sawing. This is where you will have the flattest cuts, very little sawdust in between the boards and reduced saw marks of what you have when you are sawing slower.
