Not only will this allow us to dry out lumber much quicker, but it will also allow us to sterilize the lumber for it to be safe to go inside homes. This kiln wood drying process makes the wood bug free and sterile.
Right now we are getting all of the materials for our kiln plans, and proper education and training to make sure we have all of our bases covered. Many components, like the KD250 Wood-Mizer dehumidification system.
The WoodMizer system we are planning to use will allow us to do wood drying for all surrounding areas, like Kansas City, Kansas, Iowa and more. There are turn key systems like the KD250 Pro dehumidification wood kiln with 20’ container that many go with, but it comes with a very hefty price tag. This WoodMizer system is nice and ready to go.

Many will ask, when will we have this up and going? That’s all up to how much additional time we can create to get the build ready for installation of the parts, and more importantly, it’s all about how quick we can actually get all of the parts and important units needed to do the build.
Air drying the wood before going into the kiln is an absolute must. This allows for the wood to naturally dry and get rid of moisture, then the kiln process becomes much faster and more effective. Once the wood has been inside the kiln for the time needed to dry and get the moisture level down to 7-8%, then the last step is to bring the needed heat in to kill any bugs that might exist. This is the sterilization process.
