The last few days I’ve been building another Lube King watering system for TimberKing Sawmills. These LubeKing systems allow water and lube right to the saw blade of the sawmill, and it’s all automated.
How Does This LubeKing Work?
There is a solenoid that wires to the blade clutch and when the clutch switch is activated, it automatically turns on the water system. When the blade clutch switch is turned off, it automatically shuts off the water to the blade. This system not only stops all of the footsteps back and forth to do this manually, but it also reduces the amount of wasted water and fluids to the blade, by over 50%.

Below is the blade wipers. These blocks bolt right onto the adjustable guide roller arm (the yellow arm) on the TimberKing sawmills. This blade wiper block holds the orange scotch brite pad (as shown in picture) and the water/lube dripper drips right in on top of this block and it keeps the saw blade nice and clean, as well as the guide rollers.

For my personal TimberKing 2220 sawmill on our farm, this system saves me over 75% of the water/windshield washer fluids that I was using prior to this build and install, not to mention all of the footsteps back and forth turning it on and turning it off. And of course, forgetting to shut it off and draining my water tank over and over.

Wasting water is one thing, but using the windshield washer fluids, or the RV Antifreeze I use in cold weather, along with dish soap added and PineSol cleaner is more costly than just water. This automated system stops the waste. I’ve also found it very important to keep PineSol in my tank, regardless of what fluids I’m using. The PineSol keeps the blade much cleaner as well as the guide rollers.
The photo below here shows one more addition to make this water/lube system complete. This is a small block I built to hold the orange scotch brite pads which wipes the blade and the lube from the water/fluid tank located above flows right down and into this scotch brite pads and is constantly wiping the blade to keep it polished clean, and wet.

Often times there is enough moisture in the logs I’m milling to keep the blade cool, but the cleaning action is what we are really after, which is why PineSol is a huge bonus to keep in the water/fluid tank. The dawn dish soap works great, but it really foams and bubbles up a lot if you over use it. Many folks only use diesel fuel for their lubricant, but for me, our customers do not want the diesel/oil stains in the walnut wood we mill for them. And without a system like shown in this post, you will waste a great deal of expensive diesel fuel.
If you want one of these systems for your TimberKing sawmill, then reach out to me and I will be happy to build you one. These shown in this post are built using mild steel plates, but mine was done with aluminum plate. I can do either one, but the mild steel is cheaper, and can be painted the color of your choice.

As shown in the pictures above here, you can get the type with cover, or without the cover. The cover offers protection for the solenoid and keeps the majority of the weather off of it. Some folks just want to leave it open, which is totally fine.
Other sawmill company’s, like Woodmizer use similar systems, so why shouldn’t you? Woodmizer has the unique LubeMizer system that works so well, and this LubeKing system I’m using works just as good.

Let’s get your sawmill efficiency up to where it should be, and make you more productive and make your life easier at the same time. Prices are shown below of each type.

-P.S. Below are the prices on each type of the above “LubeKing” automated system. These are all 100% turn key and ready to bolt on your machine. New hoses, hose clamps, the same panels shown above, w/solenoid, water flow valve and blade wiper, w/wiper pad. You also get a brass bung for water tank and good stainless hand valve. The stock tanks have plastic bungs and shut off valves, and they leak and break. The ones I include with all of this are not plastic and won’t leak or break.
-Metal w/top cover, painted black: $505.00
-Metal w/o top cover, painted black: $475.00
-BASIC metal painted black w/o top cover, no wiper block, no hoses, no water tank bung or stainless shut off valve: $375.00
-Aluminum w/top cover, not painted: $565.00
-Aluminum w/o top cover, not painted: $535.00
-BASIC aluminum w/o top cover and wiper, no hoses, no water tank bung or shut off valve…$435.00
